“ Traditional / Old World Kitchen Design”

Located in Manalapan, Florida 33462

This kitchen showcases many of the traditional kitchen elements while maintaining the old world style.

The upper custom kitchen cabinets are oversized and in proportion to the scale of the room, I achieved with by adding a header on top of the upper cabinets - This being an ocean front Mediterranean home in Manalapan I chose the rope molding as the separation between header and upper cabinet.

The finish on the custom made cabinets are and antique white with and Oak glaze accenting the raised panel doors and carved moldings.

Over the range is a custom made stone hood flanked with two solid wood corbels.

I love the wrought iron chandelier with crystals and the aged wood plank dining table -

I believe both add to that old world ambiance -

Once again to keep the architectural scale of the room the coffered ceiling was designed with many details from the crown molding down to the dentil trim all accented with matching Oak glaze -

In keeping with the traditional old world kitchen decor the multi-color scroll stencil makes the Mediterranean decor complete -

This is a great example of how an interior designer trained in kitchen design and has a background in architectural details can incorporate all of the elements through out your kitchen remodel and interior design process.

I think glass doors always adds a sparkle to any kitchen design and adds a space for beautiful accessories, china or glasses and when light makes for a soft night lite.

The plate rack as a great space to show off your Talavera plates.
