This vacation home belongs to a long time client who’s home we completely home remodeled - we started with the interior design for her master bedroom and remodeled her master bath as well and finished her home with an entire kitchen remodel.
I shared with her my belief that what you envision and ask for you will receive - Well, after a year we completed her home remodel and all of her interior design projects and we looked back and commented on how much fun we had working together, she told me that she wished that she had more projects - I told her to be carful what you wish for.
After about 3 weeks I receive a call from her telling me that her vacation condo at Ocean Reef Club had a water leak and the place was flooded - Our wish was granted and we had a new project.
Kitchen and home remodel -
For the kitchen remodel we chose the classic white shaker cabinets above the upper cabinets was a coral painted header with an applied molding and a cove crown under the bead-board ceiling that was painted in a rich New England Blue color.
The clean white subway tile backsplash extended from the “Beach Glass” imbedded quartz counter tops up to the crown molding with a rope detail around the window to match the two framed glass tile inserts.
For the flooring I used a porcelain faux driftwood tile laid in an alternating pattern with two different size wood planks

Home remodel -
During this home remodel we chose to incorporate the patio into the living room by eliminating the glass sliding doors, thus enlarging the living room - we also built out the wall to the left to allow for the built-in refrigerator in the kitchen, enlarge storage closet and allow for a soffit over the TV area giving us and room for two high-hat lights and access for the AC duct for the additional AC vent.
Being a vacation home I always like to extend the number of guest possibilities and in doing so I opeted out of the standard table for four and designed this wrap around peninsula with seating for eight, doubling the fun!
Bathroom Remodel -
Beach-house bathrooms must be FUN ! Green sink cabinet with legs to give that old fashion furniture look with matching mirror, picture frame and a shelf for your collection of shell, of course !
And while your having fun accenting your beach towels with color coordinated towel hooks and ceramic fish, thanks to my clients find - I grouped them together on a framed bead-board - as with all my interior design I like to reuse and element or color through out the home - such as in this beach house I have 6 areas that I used bead-board (framed beach towel area, kitchen ceiling, at peninsula base, framed over peninsula, framed behind TV and framed over the sofa with artwork that matches the framed mirrors over the end tables.
Don’t for get to paint your other kitschy beach accessories like the kitchen clock “Welcome to the Beach” and shell house key holder.
